We bought a brand new chinese Hong Xin Super 125 to travel through Laos for 1 month. After quite some investigations in Luang Prabang, we figured it would be less expensive after all than buying the usual Honda Win or other or even renting (250.000 kipp/day for an equivalent bike for a month is 7.5 million) since we are saving on repares. We bought it 8 million kipp ( about 800euros, 1080USD) with 2 helmets and rack and are asking 7 million kipp, open for negociation. Up to now, it has been ideal for 2 persons plus bags, quite easy even on mountain roads. We bought it with 2km on the odometre. It will have probably around 2000km by the time we sell it, you get the idea. The bike is fully legitimate with laos plates and yellow book, unlike many bikes that we stunbled across during our hunt (lots of stolen papers/plates, not matching the actual bike). In terms of organization, the ideal for us would be to sell it early july in Vientiane. For payment, everything is possible: cash in USD, AUD or Kipp (worst option) or we can even go to an internet cafe together and do a money transfer in euros or swiss francs. Ok, back on the road, we hope we here from you soon enough!
