Well, got the make, model and price sorted out. One problem, Its in Thailand. Decided on a new Mazda BT50 Pro, Doublecab, 4X2 2.2 Hi Racer 6EAT (auto) its 874,000 THB which on tadays ex rate would be about $28,193. Now my problem starts..... How do I get it back here?.......Dont think I can (legally). If I pay the Lao scam/bribe I reckon it wont be the better side of $60,000. I was told that import tax ranges from 25% - 90%. Because I am a foreigner, needless to say I will have to pay the falang fee as well!:mad:. I had another idea though, how about one of those amphibious things and just find a spot and drive it over the Mekong - thus bypassing this cash collecting and generating point called Lao customs!!:drowning:.
