It's important to remember this is not just happening in Thailand and Vietnam. Dogs are regularly stolen from the streets of Vientiane, to be sold for meat - the are plenty of 'Chit/Thit Cho' here in Laos.

About a week ago, two dog thieves stole our dog here in Vientiane. I was hoping I would be able to chase them down with my motorcycle, but they had decent head start and got away. I'm glad the article also mentioned that the thieves will be beaten to death or simply killed by the dog's owner. That was the justice I had in mind.

Why do you think Vietnamese eat dogs more than others? because they like to tease tourists about it....but Vietnamese eat dogs much less than others. They eat in only certain days of the years because for them is bad luck. But Chinese they eat every day (they eat monkeys as well, Vietnamese don't)..., Thailand, Laos, Korea. Cambodia, India.......Asian Countries they all eat dogs.
