    just curious, after all said and done, how much will I end up spending including tax, reg, etc.?

    Tax man will assess the value of the car based on original purchase price, type of vehicle, size of engine and age and will apply the tax rate which can be up to 200% of assessed value. Unless you qualify for tax free plates, you better be prepared to pay at least 6k USD and potentially quite a bit more in tax.

    Some loopholes that may have existed before are being or have been closed so be careful. Even the large projects here are beginning to lose their tax free vehicles.

    From my knowledge and experience, since this is an SUV, you would be very lucky to pay under $15,000 USD based on the current age and value.
